Food Relief Capricorn Coast is a non-profit 100% volunteer powered organisation that helps feed families on low incomes.
They supply basic groceries, meat, fruit and vegetables, bread and toiletries.This service is available to Families, Pensioners, Aged Pensioners, individuals and anyone who finding it tough to make ends meet. They are not Government funded. This service is self sufficient.

About the Paintings:

The Capricorn Coast is where I was born and where I grew up. It's where my children and grandchildren are, and where I've lived all but a decade of my life. These pastel paintings are done "Plein Aire" - on site, a vastly different approach than the studio paintings in both pastels and oils that I'm noted for.

 

In 2024 it was my privilege to be on the faculty of 2 major International Art Conferences in the United States including the Plein Air Convention and Expo held in the Smokey Mountains. I teach Plein Air painting (on site) on my international paintaways so I'm quite conversant with the joys and challenges of capturing the delight of a scene quickly, before the light (or the tide) changes.

These pastel paintings are a reflection of my love for my home - places of my youth, places I go to now. They are all matted, ready for you to frame under glass, but protected in the meantime. It is an honour to use them to raise funds for Food Relief Capricorn Coast who make such a difference to those struggling in our current environment. All purchases will be paid for directly into the charity's bank account. 

This year, I've added two additional works - a pastel seascape from Northern NSW and a pastel landscape from Marrowstone Island near Seattle in the United States. I used the latter as a paint along subject in this year's international Pastel Live! online convention.
